Hey everyone.
I was bored earlier, so naturally I've been looking at all things I'll need for the baby's room. And I stumbled across some celebrity nurseries. I cannot believe how much money they spend. A custom crib....$26,000. No no no. That does not work for my thrifty mind. Hell, I might not even spend $200 dollars for a new crib. I mean, I want the crib to be safe and strudy. But if it's second hand? I really don't mind.
And why does everything need to match? Why does the wall paper match the molding around the windows? The curtins need to match the bumper pads? The stuffed animals need to match the carpet? And all of this matches everything? Yes it would be nice to have it so "perfect" but let's face it...babies like to ruin "perfect" things. They poop. They spit up. It's a fact of life.
So, no I don't want to spend 100,000 dollars on a nursery that my baby will eventually out grow. And yes, my child will have some nice new outfits. But around the house? Who cares if he's wearing hand me downs? I grew up on hand me downs. And in this economy that's all me and Greg can afford.
Money is extremely tight for us right now. I'm not working and Greg is working as many extra hours his job throws his way. I don't want to sound like we're poor, but we don't have extra money. And I make sure to budget down to every penny. And I save every penny too. So when I see people blowing money on things that I could never dream about affording, it makes me mad. I'm glad that some people can afford to give their children all the things they want. It just doesn't seem fair. There is people who don't know how they can feed their children and others just throw their money away on senseless things.
Sorry for the rant. I just get disguested with the "rich".
Until later.
